M-Streets

Named for the leafy lanes that all start with “M” (Monticello, Mercedes, McCommas, and yes, Marquita), the M-Streets, officially Greenland Hills, are one of Dallas’ most storied residential pockets. The tree-shaded blocks are known for their 1920s Tudor cottages, all steep gables and rounded doors, and the neighborhood wears that history proudly while sitting a short walk from some of the city’s best eating and drinking.

You’re minutes from the Greenville Avenue strip, where the Granada Theater brings in touring acts and Trader Joe’s keeps the pantry full. Grab a Napoletana pizza, sip a cortado at a corner café, or head north to Central Market for a grazing session that turns grocery shopping into a sport. Glencoe Park and the shaded medians are made for an evening walk with the dog, and the whole area is flat and friendly enough to bike.

With Central Expressway and Mockingbird Station close at hand, the M-Streets keep downtown, SMU, and Uptown all within easy reach, though the pace here is calmer than the bustle just west.
