Oak Lawn

North of the hustle and bustle of Uptown, the occasionally idyllic and often charming neighborhood of Oak Lawn does things its own way, featuring an inclusive synthesis of culture that can easily see a boutique right at home across the street from a brash dive bar.

Bike for a beverage at the Katy Trail Ice House after an afternoon picnic at Turtle Creek Park, or opt for funky vegetarian eats at the uniquely delicious Cosmic Café. Walk the peaceful residential streets with the doggie, then head out for an evening of dancing at one of the area’s many nightclubs.

If you wanna get away without going far, Dallas’ Design District is just down the road, bringing retro bowling and some well-regarded breweries. If going far or picking up pals is on the ticket, Love Field is an easy trip too.

We’d be remiss not to mention the annual Oak Lawn Halloween Block Party, when phantoms and freaks alike bring their best costumed catwalks to Cedar Springs Road for a fest like none other. Oak Lawn has something to offer anyone, and you won’t need to live here long to find it.
